Boasting more than 150,000 unique pieces, the event offered an unparalleled

The role of marketing and design in driving our industry’s growth
cannot be overstated, and I applaud the government’s initiatives,
which have given a tremendous boost to our sector. I also commend the
organizers for spotlighting silver and promoting handcrafted jewellery,
which encapsulates the rich cultural heritage of India.”
Recognizing the impact of the Retail Jewellers Guild Awards, Ms. Nirupa
Bhatt, Gems and Jewellery Industry Expert, remarked, “Beyond the
impressive business activity on the show floor, I was inspired by the
additional features, particularly the Retail Jewellers Guild Awards, which
provided an outstanding platform to highlight talent and bring more attention
to our industry. The Shakti recognition, honouring women’s contributions,
was especially significant, as women’s involvement is key to our
sector’s evolution. Their perspectives in design and merchandising
are crucial to sustaining our industry’s success.”
Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director of Informa Markets in India, echoed
these sentiments during his opening address, stating, “The Delhi
Jewellery & Gem Fair captures the dynamism and innovation that define
India’s jewellery industry. With gem and jewellery imports soaring
to US$ 1.55 billion in June 2024, this year’s edition proudly showcased
designs that reflect India’s rich heritage while emphasizing the
industry’s growing global influence. This platform opened new horizons
for wholesalers, retailers, manufacturers, and investors alike.”
The theme, “Celebrating Craftsmanship and Innovation,” underscored
the seamless blend of traditional artistry with modern techniques. Attendees
participated in engaging panel discussions on topics such as ‘Women
in Power, Women Empower,’ ‘The Future of Responsible Sourcing:
Challenges and Opportunities,’ and ‘The Changing Landscape
of the Jewellery Industry.’ Presentations spanned areas such as
customer experience in retail jewellery, top retail and colour trends
shaping the market, and new opportunities in the gems and jewellery export
sector.
Renowned thought leaders and influencers such as Ms. Hetal Vakil, jewellery
designer, educator and entrepreneur; Navin Sadarangani, founder of NYUZ;
social media influencer Prerna Makharia; Mr. Rahul Desai, CEO & MD
of IIG; Ms. Swati Sahay, Head of Marketing & Strategy for South Asia
at FashionSnoops.com; and Mr. Amit Mulani, Managing Director of Atlantico
International, added their insights to the discussions.
Continuing its tradition of honouring industry excellence, the DJGF hosted
the Retail Jewellers Guild Awards, recognizing outstanding jewellery retailers
across various categories. A glamorous Fashion Show Night further showcased
pioneering brands and their latest collections. Among the event's highlights
was the SHAKTI ceremony, which celebrated the contributions of women in
the jewellery industry, recognizing their vital role in shaping the future
of this vibrant sector.
Aligned with Informa Markets in India’s 5th ‘Festivity of
Business’ campaign, the DJGF integrated seamlessly with the season’s
vibrant series of signature events running from September to December,
fostering connections, meaningful dialogue, and collaborative relationships
that drive the industry’s collective growth.
The DJGF not only celebrated the artistry and innovation at the heart
of India’s jewellery industry but also embodied the spirit of collaboration
that will continue to fuel the sector’s success and global impact.
